Increible. We just got to our home and met our familia. Oh my god. I got super nervous on the plane and stuff (lost one of my bags, hopefully we’ll get that tomorrow) and the ISA people brought us to our house. Literally magical when we pulled up, it’s a massive house that seems like it’s out of a movie. You enter through the front gate and the inside of the house is new and has tiled floors and an adorable kitchen and two living rooms downstairs and one upstairs. Rosie and I each have our own room, walk in closet, and our own bathrooms and showers. We also have mosquito nets so I felt like a princess deee. I have two sisters, Jennifer and Stephanie. The mom Judith is absolutely adorable and so nice and excited to have us and the dad is really inviting too and they both want to help us with our Spanish and make our experience as good as it can be. We went outside to their patio to see the chickens and their rabbit! Then we took a winding staircase up to the roof and saw the lights all across the city and the monument that is the symbol of Santiago. They have lime, mango, avocado, and maybe a few more fruit trees.. pumped. We really could not believe how nice the house is, literally fantastic and is so cute. Victor (mi padre)’s mom lives across the street (mi abuela) and I think we’re going to cut bananas tomorrow? Something got a little lost in that convo, but I think we’re going out to some land their family owns because it’s a holiday here and they don’t have to work and the chicas don’t have school. I’ve done pretty well understanding things, its hard to learn new words really fast without forgetting them but our padres said they would help us and have made it really comfortable to speak Spanish without feeling like an idiota. I feel way safe here, they have an alarm system and we’re not far from school and will be able to walk with the others students in the neighborhood. I’m exhausted now from getting up at six and have to be on my A game tomorrow because it takes way more brain power to constantly think in Spanish but its an exciting challenge (dork, but I’m ok with it). I can’t wait to explore and see more of the city and get to know my family and meet the other ISA students, literally so excited for the semester I can’t even handle it
